The PSDP Portal - A Milestone Towards Transparent Governance

The Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) constitutes the federal development budget that aims to meet the country's development needs through a major financial commitment. PSDP projects bolster economic growth and facilitate sustainable and inclusive development across all public domains.

In line with the vision of Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, the Ministry of Planning Development and Special Initiatives (M/o PD&SI), under the leadership of Minister Prof. Ahsan Iqbal, has ushered in a new era of Open & Transparent Governance. The PSDP Portal, developed by the Governance Innovation Lab in partnership with SUPARCO, provides a panoramic view of development projects across Pakistan for the first time in its history. The unprecedented open access to PSDP data aims to foster informed citizen engagement and strengthen the country's public accountability of development spending.

The Portal makes all PSDP data, including allocations, releases, progress, and PC-1s of PSDP projects, readily accessible to the public in web and mobile responsive digital format. It provides a responsive platform where researchers, analysts, and the general public can learn about PSDP projects, enabling them to understand and analyze the budget allocation and project progress. The interface of the PSDP Portal also visualizes the geographical spread of the projects, enhancing public awareness and understanding of the initiatives in their areas. The Portal provides various tools to filter the information and generate required reports. The interactive map comprises a heat map of Pakistan with PSDP projects plotted on it and color-coded on a sectoral basis. Project photos, drone footage & satellite images will also be shared where possible.

The PSDP Portal heralds a new era of empowerment for the citizens of Pakistan, promoting inclusivity and responsiveness in public service delivery. This initiative, coupled with the ambitious vision of E-Pakistan, under the 5Es Framework led by the Planning Minister Prof. Ahsan Iqbal, sets the foundation for innovation in governance, paving the way for a prosperous Pakistan. Through this platform, the Ministry seeks to leverage technology and foster a culture of accountability, making the PSDP Portal a milestone towards transparent governance in Pakistan.
